. Hemolytic disease of the newborn was observed in the third child of a mother whose blood had rare Diego blood group phenotype Di(a+b‐). The baby's blood was Di(a+b+) and gave positive direct anti‐globulin test. The mother's serum contained anti‐Di b antibody active in the anti‐globulin method, which was judged to have caused the hemolytic disease of the newborn.
