. In the production of blood‐grouping serum from human plasma, loss of antibody activity was sometimes noted and was shown to be due to the use of certain batches of cation‐exchange resins used to remove excess calcium ions. These batches of resin were found to be very acid. Complete neutralization of the resin resulted in no further loss of antibody activity.
