. This paper describes anti‐C4b(ii) antisera which agglutinate cells from cases of autoimmune haemolytic anaemia, cold‐acquired haemolytic anaemia, and certain test cells, using the antiglobulin test. It is suggested that these particular antisera possess activity against C4d absorbed on to erythrocytes. Methods of preparing test cells coated with C3d and C4d are given, together with methods for producing antisera in rabbits active against these components. The significance of these findings is discussed.
