. Incidence of the In a antigen in 1749 Indians in Bombay was 2.9%, and the gene frequency of In a was 0.0371. Classification of these subjects into various broad communities showed the incidence of In(a+) to range from 2.3 to 4.5%. In a was equally distributed in various ABO groups and in Rho‐positive and Rho‐negative individuals. Family studies of 8 In(a+) individuals suggested that In a is a Mendelian dominant character.
