. A family is described in which three members are of the recessive Lu(a–b–) type. These individuals also lack the high‐frequency Lutheran‐related antigens Lu4, Lu5, Lu6, Lu7, Lu8, Lu11, Lu12 and Lu13. There is no evidence that lack of Lutheran antigens compromises red‐cell membrane integrity.
