. In primary immunodeficiency diseases of childhood, antibodies reacting with human immunoglobulins and with bovine serum proteins were found predominantly in deficiency involving the IgA system. In generalized hypogammaglobulinaemia, no anti‐immunoglobulin activity could be detected. No clear‐cut correlation could be established between the clinical reactions to γ‐globulin injections, the appearance of anti‐IgA antibodies and previous transfusions or therapy with blood derivates.
