. Patients without immunodeficiencies or with partial deficiency syndromes frequently develop anti‐immunoglobulin antibodies following γ‐globulin administration. Such antibodies are rare in patients with severe immunodeficiencies. In the population studied, the anti‐immunoglobulin antibodies are not associated with intolerance reactions, with the exception of anti‐IgA class‐specific antibody. The anti‐complementary activity of commercial preparations seems to be the principal cause for such reactions, particularly in patients with severe immunodeficiencies.
