. An unusual phenotype of erythrocytes, with the reduced expression of I D and i antigens and with the normal expression of I F antigen, is reported. Ii antigens in the described erythrocytes have been characterized by agglutination and absorption‐elution methods, and by haemagglutination‐inhibition with erythrocyte membrane glycoproteins. A slight decrease in the expression of I D antigen has also been found in erythrocytes of the propositus' family.
