. 125 J‐labelled anti‐A, anti‐B and Dolichos biflorus extract were found to be suitable for use in the ABO grouping of hairs. The technique developed will tolerate a wide range of experimental conditions and, thus, is less exacting than mixed agglutination or elution techniques. The procedure involves crushing the hair in a press, incubating the hair with radiolabeled reagent, washing, and exposing control and test hairs to X‐ray film. Ulex europaeus extract, although it could be labelled satisfactorily, could not be used to identify hairs from O individuals. The A antigen could not be demonstrated on hair from an A 2 individual.
