. 15 out of 29 species of British non‐marine Mollusca examined yielded agglutinins against human erythrocytes. Six had agglutinins of varying anti‐A specificities, one anti‐B, one anti‐A+B, one anti‐H and five of no evident specificity. Another agglutinated native erythrocytes without specificity, but did not agglutinate red cells treated with proteolytic enzymes or neuraminidase. A further species showed some evidence of possessing a blood group B‐like substance.
