. The serum of healthy Mrs. Ste. whose blood group is A 1 B agglutinated the erythrocytes of some 50% of B persons tested. No other erythrocytes were agglutinated. The agglutinin was absorbed by group B and AB erythrocytes, slightly weaker by A 1 erythrocytes and still more weakly by A 2 and O erythrocytes. The specificity of the agglutinin thus resembles that of freshly harvested Bandeiraea simplicifolia lectin. The relationship between the agglutinin and her self‐tolerance was discussed.
