. Titration of monospecific lymphocytotoxic HL‐A antisera of different specificities and mixtures thereof against cells having the corresponding antigens, revealed that HL‐A antibodies may act synergistically. ABO antibodies were not found to have a synergistic effect in the lymphocytotoxic test. A gene dose effect on HL‐A antigens was also demonstrated. The relevance of these phenomena for histocompatibility testing is discussed.
