Summary A blood group survey has been undertaken on 444 Latvians who recently migrated to Australia. Low frequencies of the O and A 2 genes and a high frequency of the M gene were found. Only 13.3% of the subjects were D‐negative, but the significance of this observation is not known. Résumé Une étude de groupe sanguin a été entreprise chez 444 Latvians qui ont émigré récemment en Australie. On a trouvé une basse fréquence des gènes O et A 2 et une haute fréquence du gène M. 13,3% des individus sont D négatif, et la signification de cette observation n'est pas connue. Zusammenfassung Es wurde die Blutgruppenverteilung bei 444 Lettländern untersucht, die kürzlich in Australien eingewandert waren. Auffällig waren niedrige Häufigkeiten der Gene O und A 2 sowie eine große Häufigkeit des Gens M.
