The purpose of the study was to assess the value and the safety of ketamine as a single anesthetic in burned children in a war area. The material consists of 547 children admitted to the hospital in a 4‐year period. The parameters studied were blood pressure, heart rate, pulseoxymetry, pre‐ and postoperative blood gases. Clinical observations were performed during anesthesia and recovery. The children were questioned about bad dreams.
