From an anaesthesiological point of view, the main problems of clinical interest in this connection concern the oxygen transport situation in the immediate postoperative period. At this time the patient’s vital functions are not always so closely supervised as during the operation, and consequently, aid on deterioration of these functions is not always so promptly provided.
