SUMMARY The haemostatic effect of locally infiltrated ornithine 8 ‐vasopressin on operative bleeding in cleft‐palate operations was approximately the same as that of adrenaline and distincdy better than that of noradrenaline and of phenyl‐alanine 2 ‐lysine 8 ‐vasopressin (Octapressin). No side effects were observed.
