SUMMARY In 114 children 1‐15 years old, axillary block was induced with 1% Citanest plus, as a rule, epinephrine. For small children, however, a plain 1% solution was used, while some older children received 1.5% Citanest with epinephrine. In 93% of the cases satisfactory anaesthesia was obtained. No complications occurred. Citanest is an excellent local anaesthetic for axillary blocks in children.
