Transpl Infect Dis 2011: 13: 433–437. All rights reserved Abstract: We report an outbreak of parainfluenza 3 virus involving 17 hematology–oncology patients on 2 hospital wards. Sequence analysis of clinical samples confirmed homology of strains for 16/17 patients and 1 healthcare worker. Epidemiological analysis of the outbreak supported the molecular data with nosocomial transmission of the same genetic strain as the cause of the outbreak.
