Plant cells were stained for peroxidase by exposing them to a mixture of p ‐phenylene diamine and hydrogen peroxide. Peroxidase activity is shown to be associated with chromosomes, nucleoli, cell walls and cytoplasm. Possible physiological roles of peroxidase bound to different structures are discussed.
