Investigation of a group of 23 patients suffering from subacute (de Quervain's) thyroiditis for the frequency of the HLA‐Dw1 determinant showed this determinant to be more frequent ‐30.4% ‐ compared to its frequency in a healthy population — 19.1%. The finding is not statistically significant.
