The Ehlers‐Danlos syndrome (E‐D) is a well recognized genetic disorder of connective tissue of unknown etiology. In the classical form of the disease, skin and joint changes involving the hand often suggest the clinical diagnosis. By studying three affected members in three generations of a family with E‐D by means of fingerprint analysis, we have shown the evolution of secondary palmar creases. The possible etiology and significance of these secondary skin creases are discussed.
