Fifty‐one patients with trichostasis spinulosa were studied. Lesions were confined to the nose, where a maximum of 86 hairs were found in a single hair follicle. Histologically, compound hair follicles with numerous vellous hairs and keratin filled sebaceous glands were observed. Compound hair follicles influenced by endocrines and probably actinic rays may be responsible for this condition.
