. Eight new species of Clambidae from Sulawesi (Celebes), and two new species and a new subspecies from Borneo and Sumatra are described. The emerging distribution patterns reflect the long‐standing isolation of Sulawesi from the rest of the Sunda Islands and from the Asian continent. The clambid fauna of Borneo, Sumatra and the Malayan Peninsula indicates close faunal‐historic contacts.
