. The subgenus Sabethinus of Sabethes is redescribed and defined on the basis of shared morphological features observed in the adult, larval and pupal stages of four known species, two of which are described as new. Each species is described and illustrated in detail, and keys are provided for the identification of the adult and larval stages. The treatment of each species also includes an annotated summary of previous literature, a brief systematic discussion and information on bionomics and distribution. The species comprising the subgenus are Saintermedins, Samelcinonymphe, Saxhyphydes sp.n. and Sakliogenes sp.n.
