Nineteen species of Psocoptera are known from the Mascarene Islands. Twelve of these species are endemic ( Echmepteryx chekei sp.n.; Lepidopsocus curtoisi sp.n.; Caecilius mascarenensis sp.n.; Mas–earopsocus spinosus Badonnel & Pearman; Peripsocus vacoasensis sp.n.; Hemipsocus mauritiensis sp.n.; Aaroniella reunionensis sp.n.; A.mauritiensis sp.n.; Ptycta chekei sp.n.; Pt.pulchra sp.n.; Pt.aschekei sp.n.; Pt.grucheti sp.n.), although the only endemic genus is Mascaropsocus . The other seven species are either pan–tropical orcosmopolitan. A key is provided to the nineteen species and Pseudocaecilius criniger (Perkins) is synonymized with citricola (Ashmead).
