Various cases of human combined immunodeficiency together with adenosine‐deaminase deficiency have been described in the last 3 years. The congenitally thymus‐less (nu/nu) mouse could be presumed to serve as a possible laboratory model for examination of this combination of enzymatic deficiency and immunodeficiency. The present investigations, however, show similar isozyme pattern and enzymatic activity of nude mice and healthy Balb/c and C3H mice. Adenosine‐deaminase deficiency cannot be the cause of the immunodeficiency of the nude mouse.
