Summary. Fifteen plasma proteins were determined both in unconcentrated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and in serum from 22 patients suffering from various psychiatric and neurological disorders, by means of rocket immunoelectrophoresis. The procedure is described and the values are reported. The concentration of the individual proteins in the CSF is correlated to the concentration in serum and to the total protein content of the CSF. It is concluded that the CSF protein pattern can only be evaluated if the CSF total protein is known and if the plasma protein pattern in blood is investigated by means of, e.g., an electrophoresis in agarose gel.
