Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae causing leaf spot on pepper seedlings grown in a plant bed is reported in Italy for the first time. The pathogen was identified by means of biochemical, physiological and pathogenicity tests as well as by SDS‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of whole‐cell proteins. The bacterial isolates showed positive for ice nucleation and biocide production.
