The Bipolaris state of Cochliobolus bicolor was shown by isolation and inoculation to be the cause of a leaf spot of St Augustine grass in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Leaf spotting was much more frequent when the grass was in a mixed stand with Kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum).
