Various film‐forming anti‐transpirants effectively controlled leaf rust and powdery mildew on wheat in the field. Two applications of anti‐transpirant emulsions applied after flag leaf emergence were sufficient to suppress leaf rust and powdery mildew on wheat leaves. When applied before, but not after, inoculation anti‐transpirant polymers also reduced leaf rust on seedling plants in a growth room experiment.
