Biplots were used to re‐examine potato clone by nematode population interactions in six sets of data. The interactions are represented by principal components. The resulting biplots are shown to provide a simple but comprehensive picture of the interactions. The comparison between populations of Globodera rostochiensis and of G. pallida is highlighted, and it is evident from all the data sets which include both species that there are bigger interactions with clones within the former. In a data set involving only G. pallida some of the normally accepted pathotypes are found to show differences in their pattern of interaction with clones. Clones considered as non‐resistant interacted with nematode populations no less than resistant clones. A description of the biplot technique is included.
