SUMMARY A Pseudomonas sp., which on serological and biochemical characters falls in Pseudomonas Group IA (similar to P. syringae van Hall), infected the inflorescences and caused seed decay of coriander in Britain. The pathogen was seed transmitted. Seed infection was reduced by slurry treatments with the antibiotics streptomycin at 2–5 g/kg seed or kasugamycin at 0–25 g/kg seed.
