SUMMARY In 1979, 29 adults and one larva of the Colorado beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), were found associated with imports in England; 19 of these specimens were alive. This is the lowest annual total for seven years. Details of these finds are presented. None was found in Wales. One dead beetle was found in Scotland. No breeding colony of Colorado beetle was found. Live female beetles kept in the laboratory after capture laid an average of 524 eggs each (range 0–644) and the average percentage hatch was 24 (range 0–42).
