SUMMARY In 1978, 37 adults of the Colorado beetle, Leptlnotarsa decemlineata (Say), were found in England and Wales, of which 13 were alive. This is the lowest annual total for six years. Details of these finds are presented. No beetles were found in Scotland. Live female beetles kept in the laboratory after capture laid an average of 717 eggs each (range 101–1738) and the average percentage hatch was 16 (range 0–35).
