SUMMARY By using new experimental clones bred from the Andigena source of resistance CPC 2802, a Globodera pallida population from near Boston, Lincolnshire, was shown to be a previously unrecognized pathotype, although it would be classified as Pa 2 according to the scheme of Kort, Ross, Rumpenhorst and Stone (1977). As a result, modification of the scheme will be necessary.
