SUMMARY Twenty‐three pure culture isolates of Phytophthora fragariae were obtained from the cvs. Cambridge Favourite, Cambridge Rival, Gorella and Redgauntlet which had become infected at one site in Hampshire. All were race B66–11. When four isolates were compared, there was no evidence that they had been selected for pathogenicity towards their soiuce cultivar.
