SUMMARY Good control of rots, derived from conidia of Gloeosporium perennans applied to cvs. Cox's Orange Pippin and Sunset apples after harvest, has been obtained with dips of thiabendazole and benomyl at 300 p.p.m. Natural infection of Cox's Orange Pippin was considerably reduced by this treatment providing the level of infection was not high. Control of heavy infection was poor with this cultivar but good with Sunset. It is suggested that a combination of pre and post‐harvest applications of either material could be a successful method of treatment.
