SUMMARY Short notes and illustrations of spores of Septoria spp., together with some observations on their occurrence in Scotland, are given to help in their identification, and their distinction from other common fungi. Septoria avenae f.sp. triticea on wheat and barley, S. nodorum and Ascochyta hordei , or a closely related species, on barley are recorded as new in Britain.
