SUMMARY Eleven pesticides were compared for the control of a strain of Myzus persicae resistant to contact organophosphorus pesticides on year‐round chrysanthemums growing in pots. The pesticides were applied as sprays, drenches or granules. Several of the pesticides were phytotoxic in varying degrees to the cultivar Heyday. Drenches of oxydemeton‐methyl, demeton‐S‐methyl and demephion gave good results for several weeks but granules of the carbamates aldi‐carb, PP062 and C13963 were more effective and more persistent.
