SUMMARY Using a technique described, the majority of germinating conidia of Erysiphe polygoni on red clover leaves, and Peronospora parasitica on cauliflower leaves, were found to have formed appressoria in the junction areas between the anticlinal walls of adjoining epidermal cells.
