SUMMARY Forty‐seven isolates of Pseudomonas phaseolicola were recovered and race‐typed from stocks of infected dwarf bean seed and from diseased crops of dwarf and runner beans grown in southern England during 1964 and 1965. It appears that race 1 may be indigenous in runner bean crops but that race 2 was largely introduced in infected stocks of dwarf bean seed.
