. The effect of chlorophyll fluoresence on the spectral light gradients within a model green leaf was examined under different light qualities (day‐light, sunset, canopy) and different quantum efficiencies. Light fluxes within the leaf tissue are nearly doubled in the emission domain of fluorescence but the effect on the phytochrome photoequilibrium is very small.
