Summary An alternative method of recording the occlusion for the edentulous patient is described. The method is applicable to situations where replacement dentures are to be prescribed. In place of conventional record blocks, shellac‐based wax replicas of the existing dentures are used. Such record blocks facilitate both retention of satisfactory features of the existing dentures and also the incorporation of specific modifications.
