Summary Some aspects of the physiology of speech are discussed, particularly the correlation between the quality of speech and denture morphology. It is suggested that an objective method for the evaluation of speech is the use of spectrographic analysis with computer evaluation. The application of this approach to artificial denture wearers is demonstrated.
