In 1991 the Isle of Wight Health Authority engaged Management Consultants, Price Waterhouse, to undertake a comprehensive review of staff employed in the District. Changes in future manpower requirements (numbers and skill‐mix) were planned ‐ in conjunction with existing staff ‐ to meet assessed workload and required quality standards. Potential savings of up to 10% were identified.
