SUMMARY We report changes in the iron L 3 /L 2 white‐line ratio of the electron energy‐loss spectrum of a series of iron‐copper multilayers which we discuss in terms of the lattice plane spacings present in the multilayer system. Momentum‐resolved data from one multilayer is also considered.
