Inversion formulae for the rose of directions of fibre (surface) processes are evaluated by means of a parametric model of the rose of intersections. The problems of statistical tests of isotropy, degree of anisotropy and stereological formulae are solved. A short‐cut sampling procedure for the three‐dimensional case is proposed and applied in a metallographic situation.
