SUMMARY A clearing method is described to show the adventitious root tissues of Allium cepa by transparency. This method allows the lateral root primordia to be observed in situ , and enables them to be dissected out more easily. The histological sections show that both the tissues of the adventitious and lateral root primordia are perfectly preserved so that it is possible to carry out morphological observations.
