Moment correction coefficients in the analysis of a photographically recorded distribution of spherical particles

SUMMARY A model is proposed for determining the relationship between the spatial distribution of actual diameters of spherical particles and of the distribution of diameters of these particles recorded onto a photograph. In this case, in general, the observed diameter is not identical with the actual one, as in orthogonal projection, but is reduced in accordance with geometricoptical theory. The corresponding moment correction coefficients are derived.
