SUMMARY At thicknesses above 4 μm, an anti‐roll plate is necessary when cutting frozen sections for light microscopy with long‐edged glass (Ralph) knives. The structure of the plate and a system which allows the use of such plates without dismantling or interfering with present systems for steel knives is described.
